Excessive Sweating

Excessive or uncontrolled sweating not directly related to high temperature or exercise is a medical condition known as Hyperhidrosis.  It occurs in men and women and most commonly affects underarms, hands, feet, face and scalp.  The cause is a mystery, but what is understood is the nerves that control the sweat glands become overactive. Hyperhidrosis can severely impact quality of life by causing social anxiety and embarrassment, and for patients suffering from this condition, finding an effective solution can be life altering.

HOW WE TREAT IT

Botox® injections have been shown to significantly improve quality of life for patients suffering from Hyperhidrosis.   It requires treatment by a qualified professional, and as experts in the use of Botox®, Dr. Muhn and Dr. Rosen are certified in administering these specialized treatments. 

Botox® treatments for Hyperhidrosis are not covered by OHIP, however private insurance may cover all or a portion of the treatment.

A referral from your family doctor will be required to initiate treatment
