Dr. Muhn is a Board certified dermatologist who graduated in clinical medicine from McMaster University in Hamilton and went on to pursue a five year residency in dermatology at McGill University in Montreal. Following residency he completed an additional one year fellowship at McGill in MOHS skin cancer reconstructive surgery and cosmetic dermatologic surgery – the only fellowship of its kind in Canada.
Dr. Muhn founded Dermetics in 2004. The full service dermatology clinic specializes in both cosmetic procedures, general and specialized dermatology, skin cancer management and skin reconstruction. Outside of his clinic Dr. Muhn provides expertise as a surgical consultant at the Juravinski Cancer Center in Hamilton and as Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at McMaster University and co-founded the Dermetics Training Academy, a partnership with Family Physicians to help deliver the best skin care for the community.
Recognized in the industry as one of the country’s leading authorities in aesthetic medicine, Dr. Muhn has provided cosmetic education and demonstrations of cosmetic procedures involving Botox Cosmetic®, Juvederm® and Restylane® through numerous television appearances and lectures. For leading industry manufacturers Allergan and Medicis Inc., Dr. Muhn acts as an instructor of other North American physicians on the latest techniques for cosmetic injections and serves as Chair of Allergan’s FACE Aesthetic Advisory Board and as Co-Editor of its cosmetic website FACEINSTITUTE.ca.
Dr. Muhn is a frequently published author and has served as an investigator on a number of clinical trials to establish the safety and effectiveness of cosmetic treatments and devices. A passionate learner and mentor, he continues to lend his skills and expertise to the research and development of new and improved treatment s and techniques within the industry.
